Moving

I’ve had the week off from work, so that we could work on our new apartment (110m2, at Vesterbro, Copenhagen). It has been so hard, cleaning, painting and moving stuff there, but the new apartment is starting to look great.

The new apartment is only two years old, but the people that lived there where pigs. The “oiled ash” flooring wasn’t kept properly and it needs a really deep clearing. We started on that today, but didn’t finish. Other than that we are nearly there and just need to move.

We’ll going to the summerhouse tomorrow to spend the week-end. I’m really praying for at bit of fair weather. This is probably going to be the only “away from home” time we’ll get this summer.

Word down

Just used Office Word 2003 for the first time.

I’ve been using OpenOffice for the last year or so and before that it was Office 2000 or Office 97.

What an annoying piece of crap. The screen is plastered with irrelevant stuff and the dictionaries that I needed wasn’t there and Word couldn’t really understand this. So if I select spell-check it just tells me that everything is fine.

Well, my installation of OpenOffice 1.1.1 just finished (it took as long to download and install as it took to write this). Cool.

New PalmOne PDA – not interested

I’ve been waiting for the new PalmOne PDA to be released and this morning they where.
But they wheren’t what I had hoped for or expected. I wanted a new Tungsten PDA with the 320*480 screen (cheaper then the T3 or maybe with WiFi build in). What they came with was two new machines in the Zire series, which is the cheap Palms, with limited memory and no universial connector. The zire 72 could be interesting if it wan’t a bit to thick because of the
build in camera (which is totally useless for me).

Reading The Knight Templar

I’m currently reading The Knight Templar by Jan Guillou (I’m reading the danish version called “Tempelridderen”). I’m about one third through and it’s looking good.

It takes place in the 11th hundred AD, during the crusades. Swedish Knight Templar Arn has joined to the crusades a part of a punishment, because he got a little to “heavy” with his girl friend before they got married. She had gotten sentenced to 20 years in a nunnery and he has vowed not to return before the 20 years has passed. Looking good…
